My primary interest is in historic interiors or in other words anything that can go on a wall. I first became fascinated with wallpaper in my first year of study at the Winterthur/ University of Delaware Graduate Program in Art Conservation during an in-depth examination and material analysis of a wallpaper-covered trunk.
My Summer Work Project 2013 was spent at Heugh-Edmondson Conservation Services in Kansas City, MO, which included treatment of wallpaper fragments from the Harry S. Truman National Historic Site (pictured working on these fragments to left). I spent the summer of 2014 in the UK working with Allyson McDermott, a specialist in wallpaper conservation and historic printing methods.
Subsequent projects have included multiple decorative ceilings, historic paint analysis, and the painted interior of a private rail car.
I am getting lost in a city and exploring local food. Or I am at home experimenting with new recipes, reading (preferably in Spanish), and playing with my hedgehog, Freddie. I also enjoy Zumba and other physical activity. I am slightly addicted to Parks and Recreation and my Nespresso milk frother. Something that surprises people is that I play ice hockey!
